NFL Pick of the Week!
Each Friday during the NFL season, you can find HowToGamble.net's
NFL Pick of the Week. We will tell you who we are putting our
money on each week of the NFL season. Remember, these picks are
for entertainment purposes only.
SuperBowl: New York Giants(+11) vs.
New England Patriots(-11)
Even though they cheat, the New England Patriots are just a much better team than the New York Giants. The Patriots have too many veteran players to allow them slip up in their final and most important game. They are 18-0, and determined to go 19-0 and have a perfect season. They aren't going to let the Giants even make it a close game.
The score will be like New England's scores in the first half of the year, something like 49-20.
Championship Weekend: New York Giants(+6.5) at
Green Bay Packers(-6.5)
The New York Giants have been unbelievable playing on the road this year and have won back to back road playoff games. Green Bay looked strong against the Seattle Seahawks last week as well. This game is going to be close and the weather will probably be a factor as it's supposed to be around 0 degrees Sunday night.
We are picking the New York Giants to win in a close game. We like them a little more than Green Bay because of the running game, pass rush, and how well they have played in the road.
Divisional Weekend: San Diego Chargers(+9.5) at
Indianapolis Colts(-9.5)
The Colts will focus on stopping L.T. in this game
and make Philip Rivers beat them. That isn't
going to happen. The Colts offense will be too
much for San Diego's defense, especially with the
Colts playing at home. This is an easy one,
the Colts will win big.
Wildcard Weekend: Jacksonville Jaguars(-2) at
Pittsburgh Steelers(+2)
Jacksonville has already beaten Pittsburgh this
season, and according to the odds, that usually
would mean that Pittsburgh would have the advantage
since it is difficult to beat the same team twice in
the same year. However, Pittsburgh just isn't
the same team as they were in years past and they
are missing their starting running back, Willie
Parker. Jacksonville has a good defense, two
good running backs, and a QB that doesn't turn the
ball over. This will be a close game, but we
are taking the Jaguars to win by more than 2 points.
Week 15: New York Jets(+20.5) at
New England(-20.5)
As good as New England is this year, this is just too
many points to give. It is supposed to snow and be
high winds during the game, which should stop the
Patriots passing game some. We still expect New
England win this game, but it will be by less that 20
points.
Week 14: Oakland(+10.5) at
Green Bay(-10.5)
Green Bay is one of the top 2 teams in the NFC and
Oakland is one of the worst teams in the league.
Oakland has no chance to even make this a close game
against Brett Favre and the rest of the Packers in
Green Bay.
Week 13: Atlanta (+3.5) at
St.Louis(-3.5)
St. Louis will try and get their first
win at home against Atlanta this week. Mark Bulger will
not play this week, but St.Louis still has too many weapons on
offense and Atlanta won't be able to stop them.
Week 12: New Orleans (-3) at
Carolina(+3)
New Orleans is coming off of two straight losses, but
they get to face Carolina this week. Carolina is
really struggling, losing their last 4 games and having to start Vinny Testeverde at QB. We'll take Drew Brees, Reggie Bush,
and the 3 points in this matchup of two of the most
under-achieving teams in the NFL.
Week 11: Cleveland (-3) at
Baltimore(+3)
Cleveland barely lost to Pittsburgh last week in a
game they should of won and Baltimore is not even close
to being as good as Pittsburgh. Baltimore will
also be playing without Samari Rolle, one of their
starting cornerbacks, and their other starting
cornerback, Chris McAllister, is questionable.
Cleveland should score a lot of points in this game and
win by at least a touchdown.
Week 10:
Detroit (pick 'em) at
Arizona(pick 'em)
Detroit has been playing very well recently and their
offense is even better now with Kevin Jones back starting at RB.
Arizona has lost their last 3 games and they have not looked
good at all. While Kurt Warner could have a big game,
remember that he is going up against his former coach, Mike
Martz, and he knows Warner's weaknesses better than anyone.
The main one: Blitz him!!! In a pick 'em game, we like
Detroit on the road to win this week.
Week 9:
San Diego (-7.5) at
Minnesota(+7.5)
Minnesota has Adrian Peterson, the best rookie running back in years, and that will be enough to keep this at least a close game with San Diego. The 7.5 points is too much and Minnesota may win this game.
Week 8: Indianapolis (-7) at
Carolina(+7)
Vinny Testaverde, David Carr, it doesn't matter who starts for Carolina they are going to have a tough time keeping up with the Colts. Peyton Manning to throw at least 3 TDs and the Colts win this game easily.
Week 7: Pittsburgh (-4) at
Denver(+4)
Pittsburgh is 2nd in the league in Rushing Yards per Game with 167, and Denver gives up the most Rushing Yards per Game. Also, Denver will be without Javon Walker and will have a difficult time putting up points against a good Pittsburgh defense. Look for Pittsburgh to beat Denver by at least a touchdown.
Week 6: Tennessee (+3.5) at
Tampa Bay(-3)
The Titans have covered in 12 of their last 14 games and have covered in their last 3 games against Tampa Bay. The Titans have a good front 7 that will put pressure on Garcia and without a good run game for Tampa, they will be in trouble. Vince Young will find a way to win this game for the Titans.
Week 5: Chicago (+3.5) at
Green Bay(-3.5)
The Packers are on a roll and their defense is getting better
each week. The opposite is true for the Bears, although their
defense is getting worse each week because of injuries. Look for
Favre to throw at least a couple touchdowns against the second
string Bears defense and win by at least a touchdown.
Week 4: St. Louis (+13.5) at Dallas (-13.5)
We'll take the Cowboys and the -13.5 points this week. Dallas is the better team than St.Louis, hands down. And we think they should be able to cover that large spread. Look for Bulger to throw a few interceptions, and lead St. Louis to an 0 and 4 start.
Week 3: Dallas(+3)
at Chicago (-3)
Tony Romo, Marian Barber III, TO, and the rest of Cowboys offense has been great so far this year. Sunday night's game against the Bears defense will be a tough matchup and will show us just how good they are. We are picking the Cowboys this week against the Bears, because even though the Bears defense might slow down the Cowboys, we have no confidence in Rex Grossman and the rest of the Bears offense.
Week 2: Cincinnati
(-7) at Cleveland (+7)
The Bengals offense looked good in Week 1, and Cleveland has no idea what they are doing after trading their starting QB after one bad half. We like the Bengals to win this game by more than a touchdown.
Week 1: Denver
(-3) at Buffalo (+3)
We like Buffalo this week, with the 3 points. The game should be close, but Buffalo looks a little better, and we like the +3 that the bodog line is giving.
