Parlays - Parlay Bets Explained with Odds

A parlay wager is a bet on two or more games that pays higher odds than betting on the outcome of both events. The drawback is that the odds aren't right and that if one selection loses the whole parlay is a loss.

The more events parlayed the worse the odds shift in the casinos advantage. The advantage is that parlays enable you to bet more on the same game and you can bet more on two teams who are playing at the same time.
In a parlay, all your plays must win to win the bet, except when one or more of your plays tie. In a parlay with 3 games or more, a tie results in a push for that particle game, and the parlay is reduced by that one game (a 4 game parley becomes a 3 game parley). If a 2 game parlay has a tie and a winner, then the parlay pushes is treated as a single bet. If a 2 game parlay has a tie and a lose, the parlay losses.
Teasers - Teaser Bets Explained with Odds
A teaser bet is a bet where you can move the spread by a set amount in your favor when betting at least two teams like a parlay.
Regular line: Green Bay -3 and Arizona +5 6 point teaser: Green Bay +3 and Arizona +11
These wagers are usually only offered for football and basketball. The average teasers and payout odds are listed below.

Many books also offer 3 team 10 point teasers in football and 7 point teasers in basketball and 4 team 13 point teasers in football and 10 point teasers in basketball. These are often referred to as "Sweetheart Teasers". The payout for these pays are:
3 team sweetheart teaser 10/13 4 team sweetheart teaser 10/16
As in a parley, all your plays must win to win a teaser except when one or more of your plays tie. In a teaser with 3 games or more, a tie results in a push for that particle game, and the teaser is reduced by that one game (a 4 game teaser becomes a 3 game teaser). If a 2 game teaser has a tie and a winner, then the teaser pushes and there is no action. If a 2 game teaser has a tie and a lose, the teaser losses.
Buying a Half Point Buying the Hook
You can shift the spread a half point in your favor by laying 12-10 odds instead of the standard 11-10. This is called buying a half point. This is also know as "buying the hook".
Some books let you buy up to three points. The payouts for this is listed below. 1/2 point you lay 12/10 1 point you lay 13/10 1 1/2 points you lay 14/10 2 points you lay 15/10 2 1/2 points you lay 16/10 3 points you lay 17/10
Buy points are generally not good bets. Players may loss a few games by a half a point, but in the long run, paying for extra points will be much more costly.
